Jordan

ADF was one of the very first organizations that provided training to Jordanian NGOs and government institutions on the concepts and practices of advocacy, and how it can be applied in Jordan.

ADF worked closely with Princess Basma Women's Center of Queen Zein Al Sharaf Institute. The Princess Basma Women's Resource Centre (PBWRC) was established in 1996 in response to the Beijing Platform for Action of the fourth World Women's Conference. As well as supporting policy-makers and women's groups, PBWRC conducts gender-specific research and holds information on issues related to women in Jordan. PBWRC has conducted a range of activities including advocacy and electoral training, data collection and research training, and workshops and forums for girls, youth and professional women.  For more information, please consult www.johud.org.jo/queenzein.html.

In ADF’s advocacy program, Jordanian NGOs with diverse interests, such as women development, environment, child rights, rural development, and others have not only participated in the training program, but also applied the skills learned to their organizational contexts.
