Organization of Farmer Associations and Cooperatives

ADF assists in the development and strengthening of farmer associations and cooperatives. ADF brings together small-scale farmers to work towards common goals, capitalize on economies of scale in production methodologies, invest in larger scale value-creation or cost-reduction equipment, and increase their production levels. Also, ADF assists these producer groups to  establish market linkages for key farm products, acquire business- skills training and increase their access to credit.  

  • ADF has provided assistance in organizing and registering more than 90 new modern agricultural associations and cooperatives with more than 1,800 members.
  • Farmers’ production capacity increased through ADF provision of modern production and processing equipment including greenhouses, irrigation systems, milking machines, and packing/wrapping equipment, cold storage facilities etc.
  • In addition to education and on-farm training in production technologies, plant protection, marketing, branding, management, and certification, ADF provides assistance to members of farmer associations and cooperatives in obtaining bank credit.
