Electricity and Gas
ADF has implemented 23 gas and electric projects in 8 municipalities in Vojvodina to improve the stability and security of the domestic electrical power supply, benefiting 41,527 citizens in rural and semi-rural areas.
Impact
- New transformer stations and upgraded networks improved the power supply in communities providing adequate power and stable voltage in areas most affected.
- Maintenance of the electric supply network was facilitated by shortening the distance from the transformer station to consumers, decreasing the number of power system break-downs.
- Power supply improvements allowed for an increase in the number of households connected.
- Local economic opportunities increased by the availability of electricity for small businesses and farms enabling them to expand business activities and increase production through improved utilization of irrigation system water pumps, cold storage, and processing equipment.
- Installation of generators and transformer stations improved and increased the water supply in six communities.
Three ADF gas-related projects included the following: mapping of the existing pipeline; provision of a regulating station with measurement instruments; and construction of a gas distribution pipeline system. Results of these projects included:
- Households, small businesses and public institutions had access to a cheaper, cleaner, and more efficient source of energy.
- Residents benefited from having access to a more reliable and efficient energy source for heating.
- Gas supply enabled greenhouse vegetable, flower, and fruit producers to decrease production expenses and increase production in winter.
